🚨 Sunrise Movement KC needs YOU to urgently send an email to the Transportation committee at City Council! Tell TIO to listen to Kansas Citians, not KCATA bureaucrats, and protect Zero Fare for ALL! 🚨

The City of KCMO and KCATA's draft yearly service agreement contains language that would dismantle Zero Fare as we know it, requiring certain bus riders to pay new fares if they don't meet certain "eligibility" requirements. The exact details of these requirements are unknown.

If KCATA staff are successful in getting the City to pass this agreement, our buses will become out of reach to thousands of people in our city. 93% of bus riders support Zero Fare as is, and we pay 2 sales taxes to pay for bus service in our city. Implementing new fares on bus riders will only add another tax to poor and working-class people. KCATA's own estimates show that it will cost more to implement than will generate in revenue. This is bad for riders, bad for our bus system, and bad for our planet.

Can you send an email to KCMO City Council asking them to reject these language changes and support permanent Zero Fare for ALL of us?
